Just Thinking

Today has been a really amazing day. Full of agility practice at my trainer, Lyn's place, and then after that our make up class(due to medical issuse she had to cancel our class on wends)...

But after a long day, that left me sun burnt and Lilo and I both happily tired, I was thinking how much fun agility is... but it's not everything. For our practice this morning, I wasn't all that into it (its been a LONG work week, so im tired and beat down to the bone) and so that in tern made Lilo not that into it(Not to mention we haven't even seen equipment in 2 weeks, cuz of rain and me working). But even though I wasn't into it today, that doesn't mean I didn't have fun. I had a BLAST! Lyn was irragatating her property so most of the feild was flooded (the other half that we were working on of course wasn't)  but it was a blast, my shoes got SOAKED. Lilo and I spent a lot of time running around in it, splashing eachother and all that fun. =). (Lilo was Liturly splashing me, lol she was running.....no...sprinting circles around and she made sure she got RIGHT next to me at full speed. lol )

Then we had class after a good break and lots of fun in the water. Lilo did awesome with our homework, and Lyn had us be first to try the wobble board and the ladder. Lilo did great. Everyone is always so impressed =-). Even me! lol...

On my drive home I was thinking, 'Gosh, what a great day!' but the more i thought about it the more I feel that what made it great wasn't just the agility asspect of it. It was all the fun we had, just running, and playing. I LOVE seeing my dogs just being dogs. Our two week break from agility (not includeing our homework) was good, even though Lilo totally BOMBED her weaves today, and was all over the place, it doesn't bother me. As long as she's having fun, I'm having fun.

I'm going to chalk my thoughts up to me just being tired and over worked, and sooo needing a break. But at the same time I do believe agility isn't Everything, it's just Part of something. I mean I love agility, no doubt about that, and so does Lilo, but I love just having my dogs be dogs more lol.

On another note, Lyn let me barrow her Buja Board and a ladder to work with Lilo and Elle. the buja board is simple to make so if i can get one made this week i so will, i have to have it back to her by next class, the ladder i get to keep for a bit longer...

anyways sorry no pics, maybe tomorrow i'll update this with pics of the board or something... Im planning on taking the dogs to the lake to swim so i'll try and get some pics of my dogs being dogs. lol =)

Summer is almost here!!

Bring On The Sun Shine!

or Not....

I don't know what happend, it was warming up, sun was shinning, and then..... Rain, cold, thunder, lightning, and wind... Burrrrr.....

So I've been pretty busy, Work, Class, Friends, Family and enjoying the sun shine while it lasted.

Lilo and I finaly start agility fundimental class two weeks ago. Tomorrow will be week 3 (or class 3). So far it's slow and steady, Lilo don't really like all the dogs in the class however. lol. not realy surpriseing. First class she tried to get at all of em. Then after class we let Lilo and some realy nice older ladys dog (i cant remember either or there names, but i realy love this old lady, shes so sweet and so is her BC) off leash and I was amazed, Lilo actually PLAYED..... im ganna say that again.... P.L.A.Y.E.D!!! with this dog, like full on played. Running, chasing eachother, play bows, little playful nips and wrestleing a bit.... It was amazing, I was soooo happy...

 Then we tryed to let Lilo and this other Smoothie BC play and of course it was a fight, but I must say it was NOT Lilos fault, (even tho Lilo was the one that made the move first) This dog has the same issues as Lilo, he has no idea how to approach, interact, play, or introduce himself to new dogs. He was stiff, went face to face with Lilo, staring her down, then I was throwing the ball to distract her form going for him and he then tried to herd her the way Elle does (which is in an annoying, jumping on your back and biting your neck kinda thing)... Well Elle gets away with it cuz thats Lilo's lil sis, She had no patience for this pup though. lol

Our second week of class was the same, but better, she didn't try to kill all the dogs this time. =) But due to the fact it was getting dark and I hate driving at night I didn't stay to let her play after class...

I wish this rain would just go away already, I want to take the dogs swimming! We went to the lake with my friend Erin and her dogy Lil' Girl, whos NOT little at ALL. lol. Shes a horse really. lol. Mother was a pure bred Pit and Father was a pure bred Husky.... can you tell who she takes after? lol, ya... and her personality is all Husky too. VERY STUBORN! lol but shes so pretty...

Let's see what elts is new?.... Not a whole lot really, been working a lot, cant wait for water works to open up. I love my job there, it's never a duel moment lol.... My little sister Graduated High school early!!! yay! Gooooo Haylee!!! So as soon as this rain goes away and the sun comes out, im taking her to do some graduation photos for her, She's really excited! =) Can't wait to watch her walk the stage!

so yeah that's it for new about me..... but i have more pics!

Also this weekend was pretty busy, Friday-Dress Rehursal, Saturday-Weddin'! lol My brother in law got married this weekend, It was awesome. Dustin got SMASHED lol, I refrained myself from getting Shitty Drunk like him and his other brother did. lol. But I did have an awesome buzz going for awhile.

Realization

Love Your Pet Expo

Today was the Pet Expo! It was probably the funnest experience ever. I talked to hundreds of people, about dogs(theirs and mine), agility, training, classes, issues and solutions. I got to work with others dogs, help them on equipment, show the owner how to teach and introduce equipment properly. Got my trainer new clients, and potential clients. But my fave part of it all was I got to show off my Lilo face. We did tons of Demo Runs, tricks, and obedience. Everyone was so impressed, I was loving all the positive feed back and compliments and Lilo was just soaking up all the attention. The amazing part was how Lilo didn't react as bad as she usually does, she nipped at a fellow River Dog's dog, oops. Lunged at a few others while in her kennel, and curled her lip a hand full of times while on the leash.... But considering how long we were there and how many people, dogs and excitment that was going on she did awesome and she was easy to get her attention back and hold it. We walked around a bunch, talking to people introducing Lilo to new dogs, people and strange things that were around.

All in all, it was the best day ever!!! And I think we realy impressed our trainer with all we did, demos, talking and helping people wise. She even baught me lunch =). She kept trying to tell me to go home when it was over, that I had already done so much more then I needed to, but I insisted on staying and helping clean up and load up the equipment. Which I'm sure she was glad that I stayed to help with all that, it was so much faster putting it away. 

Now I'm sure your wondering where the title comes in......

Realization:

 Well, with all that went on today, I realized that THIS is really was I want to do.... I mean I've always known that I've wanted to work with dogs and train, but for a long while I have been feeling like I couldn't really do it. Like I  can't talk to or explain, or teach others how to teach their dogs. But today was a testament that I can do it, if I really want to. Talking to people, helping them, it all seemed to come pretty naturally today.  Usually, I am a lost for words.... but not today. =) I'm so over excited about this whole thing, I could go on forever.... 

But.... I'm so tired, my feet hurt and im a bit sunburnt.... So I'll end it here before I ramble some more....

Elle and a Little Bit of Chicken....

Elle is a true beauty.

Unfortunately, She's not a natural, nor does she really care about Agility... lol. No biggy really, because she's just as happy running around looking good and loving on everyone as Lilo is on the equipment. I thought I would give it a shot though. It was a big fail, haha! but none the less we had a lot of fun.

And I got a ton of Cute, Cute, Cute pictures of my Smellie Elle. =) Pictures always make me happy. And I'm so in love with my camera.... And Elle makes for a great model. lol

I haven't totally figured out my camera yet, but I'm getting there, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm really loving the way my pictures are coming out.

I had Elle do a few jumps for me, just for a picture, lol. I don't have any pics of her doing agility(I have a Few of Lilo) so I thought this was a good time to get some while it was just me and Elle...

(I made this the picture of the day, just cuz I love her face, it basically sums Elle up. As in that's her lil smile that I love so much)

While Elle and I were out having some fun and spending some time together, Lilo was at home, not feeling so hot, being looked after by Dustin.....

Lilo thought it would be fun to counter surf.... and well, she ate about 4-5 chicken thighs....Cooked.....Bone And All.....Smothered in BBQ Sauce...... Oooooooh yeah. So you could imagine she wasn't feeling all that great.

I have been kind of tripping over it though, I mean every dog owner, Should know, that cooked bones are a no no for dogs. So I have spent the last two days watching her closely, the first day she had the runs, Like bad, I don't want to get all graphic on ya, so I'll just say bad....

Then this morning when I took her out, her poops are solid again, small poos, but solid.... I even took a stick to one to see what was coming out (gross to some I know, but the things you must do to make sure your dogs are ok lol). One was straight, bones, but it was more like sand... if that makes sense, so I'm ganna guess that's a good thing, means shes digesting them.

Her gums are a bit pale, so for breakfast, i fed less and added a lot of water, so she would have to drink while eating... Then I contacted an old friend of mine from Hawaii, who was also a Marine Wife, and a Vet Tech, and asked her if I should be worried, And what danger signs should I be looking out for. She agreed that the pale gums could mean dehydration, like I was thinking, and said as long as shes not showing any pain, pooping, eating, and drinking or acting weird then I should be fine. If she starts puking or stops pooping or eating, means there could be a blockage, and that means Vet's ASAP...

So far Lilo's looking good, her belly has gone down from a balloon to normal and she's playing again today =). THANK GOD!!! lol Now fingers crossed she'll be fine by Saturday for the Love Your Pet Expo =) I'm soooo excited, I cant wait!!! But for now Lilo will be on bed rest.... untell I feel she has passed everything with no problems....
